Our President is an idiot.

No, I'm not being facetious or partisan here.
If you worked with someone who talked like he does, you wouldn't let him anywhere near a client, customer, or important executive.

In fact, if he wasn't the son of American royalty, I doubt if he would have made it through college anywhere.

The following list are links to mp3s of our President talking, into a microphone, in public, representing our nation, on many occasions.

Just listen to a few, and ask yourself "If this was someone I knew, what would my opinion be of him?"

150 years of peace with Japan

Imagine if/when a transcription of Every Word of the President is edited, what the spell & grammar check process will be like.

"Hey Ted, did he say 'integral' or 'ingranable'?"
"Uh, play it again. Pretty sure it's 'ingranable'. Just Add it to the dictionary."
"Again? Remind me why we're doing this."
"Posterity."
"Did you just make that up?"

Well, he was elected. If you think there is honesty in politics or politicians, I have a bridge to sell you. Politicians lie. Political parties lie. If we really knew most our elected officials, we would hide our children and wallets when they came around.

To think otherwise is to invite exploitation. Leaders have taken what they wanted, probably since the biggest guy dominated the cave and fire.

Or, if you like, imagine if God had actually been honest with Adam & Eve: "Yeah, you eat that and gain knowledge, but then I kick you out. Or stay away and enjoy what you see. Your choice."

Expecting politics to solve any real problems will drive you crazy. Fix what is in your power, help where you can, but don't trust politicians. It's good will wasted.

In a fit of curiosity, I Googled "stupid Clinton quotes." And there were really just two sites, laid out as a list, with each entry giving about two lines from Clinton (grammatically correct and understandable) with usually four to six lines of explanation about why it was stupid. The effort involved and the knowledge necessary to know (or think) a statement was stupid really exceeds most people. For several statements, they are stupid only in historical perspective. In comparison, anyone with a B average or better in high school will probably recognize the gaffes made by our current President.

I don't think Clinton was a saint, or even that good a President. He lied his way to the top, and while there, like all his predecessors. But at least he sounded smarter and more with-it than the average dork-on-the-street quiz on Jay Leno. He still does, when seen or heard these days. Is much of what he says frosting and grease? Probably. But dammit, I'd be happy to have him in the conference room with me when the big account call comes. Bush I'd send to get the books from Kinko's and hope he returned late.
